“Sensei Bryan, who I've known and observed for the last 8 years, is one of the most humble, yet extremely talented martial artist I've seen in a long time. His students exemplify perfection and are a true testament to his ability to masterfully articulate the internal and external values of his art. I am honored to share my very limited knowledge of "The Way" with Sensei.

If you are fortunate enough to train with him, you will know that you've found a true teacher that lives and walks the path of excellence."

Master Samuel Scott, Founder of Combat Kuntao International

"Bryan Ratliff has been a student of mine for many years. He embodies the essence of the martial way. He is honest and true. He has the heart of a poet and the spirit of a warrior. He is true to his faith and his word. There is no greater accomplishment."

Soke Joseph Lumpkin, Shinsei Hapkido

"Sensei Bryan is a long time friend and a great student of mine. His commitment and passion in the Filipino Martial Art especially in Pambuan Arnis Tulisan Caballero is second to none. Being around Sensei Bryan and his students makes me proud and humble because they are very professional and humble.

Sensei Bryan Ratliff’s Martial Art of Shotokan Karate and Hapkido is superb and very effective in all aspects. Sensei Bryan is a member of Pambuan Arnis Tulisan Caballero Association Lolo Cinco Terro Program in a good standing.

If you are looking for a very real Martial Art and self defense, I highly recommended Sensei Bryan, he is very professional and effective in the art."

GOD Bless and Happy Training

Ama Guro Raffy Pambuan, Inheritor of Pambuan Arnis

"When my Daughter told me that she wanted to study martial arts, I began searching for a school that would match my cynical nature . I am a 26 year Law Enforcement veteran and trust is not something I am comfortable with giving freely. Luckily I found Tiger Society. From the moment we walked in Sensei Bryan and his staff made Madison feel comfortable and at ease. We signed her up that night . The instruction in Shotokan makes me happy because it embraces a traditional setting and blends in real world application. This is important to me because along with the discipline and culture that martial arts provides, the need for self defense in this world is real. The students are encouraged greatly, but belts are earned. The staff is wonderful. I have dropped Madison off and left for awhile. That says a lot for me.

A funny thing happened. I have a love for the martial arts that goes back to my childhood. It’s been a long time since I have studied and then Sensei Bryan introduced me to Combat Kuntao because he felt it would work for me in my job day to day. A former SWAT team member and instructor I thought I had seen, and even, done it all. I was wrong. I immediately fell in love with the art. Combat Kuntao is a no nonsense street level martial art. I am happy to say that at 44 yrs old, I am one of Sensei Bryan's beginning students.

If you are a parent looking for a place with instructors that you can trust, that will teach confidence, defense, and discipline look no further. If you want a Christian environment that your child will flourish in, this is your place. If you’re a cop looking for something different to put in your toolbag . . . trust me this is it.

I thank God every night for leading me here.”

Rick Cook,

Soddy Daisy Police Officer and Former Chattanooga SWAT Squad Leader

"Bryan is a very talented instructor, who has a good understanding of a variety of martial arts. He has a way of taking the best techniques that he has learned in various styles over the years and combining them so they are very practical for self defense situations. He is a very likable instructor and he has a very balanced teaching approach that is very contemporary but does not neglect of the traditional side of the martial arts."

Deputy U.S. Marshal

"I became acquainted with Sensei Bryan Ratliff nearly four years ago, when my son Jack expressed an interest in learning karate. The first school we discovered was Tiger Society Martial Arts which held classes ten minutes from my house. I was very glad to know the school was affiliated with Karate for Christ International. I was even more glad to know that Sensei Bryan is not interested in getting his students to black belt as fast as possible. Instead, the focus of the school is to take as long as possible to ensure the students actually master the techniques, including forms, weapons, and terminology. Best of all, the Word of God is interwoven in lessons, and classes always end in prayer.

My son Jack started with Shotokan (progressing to green belt), and recently began Iai-do (sword) class.

Having been impressed by all the school teaches and stands for, and especially by Sensei Bryan’s commitment to excellence in teaching and instilling the honor of those skills, and after watching for four years, I myself began Filipino Martial Arts class along with Jack. After the first six weeks of class participation, I now have a completely new appreciation for the art and respect for Sensei Bryan.

As the parent of a student, and now as a student myself, I highly recommend Sensei Bryan Ratliff and Tiger Society Martial Arts."

"In my childhood years, I always wanted to study martial arts. I watched classes take place as my mother did aerobics next door. I took a self defense class, and really can only recall learning moves and not understanding the reasoning behind it.

In 2004, I was held up at gun point at work. Things happened so fast, that my mind could not keep up with what was going on. I tried to think of ways to get out of the situation but failed. After a few weeks of mental recovery, I knew that I needed to get into a martial arts school. Not only did I need to defend myself, I soon would have a family that I would need to keep safe.

In 2011, my neighbor asked if I wanted to take martial arts with her. I immediately said yes and we began taking classes at Tiger Society. I knew with my past experience with martial arts, I didn't want to just go through the motions, but to understand why. Sensei Bryan and Sensei Donnie not only teach you the motions but explain the reasoning behind it. You'll soon realize that you are able to recall things in dangerous situations. As a mother of four, I pride myself in joining this school. I love taking what I have learned, as well as experience, and being able to give it back to this school. This school is not only for young children, but for all ages.

Tiger Society has many things to offer, I highly recommend this school. Not just for the Shotokan, but the Shinsei Hapkido, Seito-Ryu Iai-do, Pambuan Arnis, and Combat Kuntao. There is something out there for everyone!"
